BELT WORKSHOP

I love sharing leather crafting with new people! It has been quite a while since I hosted a workshop at the store, however we are bringing them back in full force this year. The first class offered in 2026 was belt making. The promotional video drew quite a bit of interest, especially from TikTok, which was a wonderful surprise. So much so that we needed to add an additional time slot!

In this class, participants were given a strip of leather and learned to bevel and polish the edges, use a mallet and metal punches to create holes, and master the art of leather finesse. It is important to learn how much pressure to apply, how much Tokonole to use (an Elmer's glue-like substance that helps polish leather edges), and how to align the belt holes so they are completely straight and evenly spaced.

Overall, it was such a fun time, and I look forward to the sculpted vase workshop in February!
